10 & Under State!
Bearcat Families
10 & Under state champs was this past weekend and it was a
huge success! The Bearcats took 12 athletes, 8 individual swimmers
(Colby Evenson, Marissa Kuch, Tyler Cook, Levi Burres, Daisuke
Fitial, Kona Ream, Alex Feng, and Ian Shultz) and 4 for
relays(Alaina Otterstrom, Sarah Roy, Caitlin Evenson, and Noah
Burres).
There were many highlights that took place over the 2 day
weekend but a few really stood out. Both boys 10 & Under relays
took First place. Yes they are state champions in both the 200 Free
Relay and the 200 Medley Relay. Congratulations! And Colby Evenson
won both the 100 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke! Way to Go. Colby
Evenson also lead the pack in his events with 4 events qualifying
him for the Age Group Sectional meet in Federal Way, Washington,
Tyler Cook will be joining him as he made 2 events, Levi Burres
made 1 and 9 year old Alex Feng another!. Outstanding!
Overall, the Bearcats had 33 out of 40 best times and also
finished 17 times in the top 8. Levi Burres 2nd in the 100fly,
Tyler Cook 3rd in the 50 Fr and 2nd in the 50 Br. Colby Evenson had
all 6 races in the top eight and winning 2, Alex Feng 5th in the
200 IM, and Daisuke Fitial 8th in the 200 Fr. The girls relays
placed 16th and 18th.
It was an exciting weekend with many close races. The caps
really made us stand out in the water and the shirts made us REALLY
stand out on deck!
